When In Rome: The Vatican (Reflection)

ByDominic Barrios | Personal Stuff

A peek from the Vatican…

I can’t help it… I just have to blog this because God is soooo good. Yes, I just want to shout it out loud. I’ve shared this on my facebook and twitter. I’m now in Italy, Rome. It has been a year of praying and interceding for the whole group and now it’s finally here. (Or rather, I’M FINALLY HERE)…. The center of Christianity…

Everything has a reason and everything has purpose… God granted me the SCHENGEN VISA, allowed me to shoot an engagement session, a wedding and lastly, the canonization of 5 blessed saints. A mixture of business, pleasure and service rolled into one. I think that would fall into the category of SUPER BLESSED.

But why am I sharing this? Like the blind beggar who got healed by Jesus (Luke 18:35-42), I just want to praise and thank Him and also share my reflection from today’s experience.

I am a sinner. And a lot of times, I really ask myself if I am worthy to serve Him. Like the story of the Canaanite (pagan) woman.

Matthew 15:26-27

Jesus replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.” “Yes, Lord,” she said, “but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”

In a lot of ways, I feel like I am the Canaanite (Pagan) woman. Someone who is a sinner and is unworthy. And yet God loves us unconditionally. Even if the blessings I receive are just crumbs that fall from the Master’s table, these are still more than enough. Proof is everything that I am experiencing now. With all these things, I am just very Grateful.
